Come as the GOLD in your Shadow!
GOLD IN YOUR SHADOW?
While many of us tend to shy away from the shadow, Carl Jung made it clear that the SHADOW is 90% GOLD if we will take the time to dig for the NUGGETS.
At our annual Halloween party, we will have a chance to do some digging through exploring a bit of John Beebe’s 8-function model. Some ideas for dressing as the gold in the shadow are “The cowgirl/boy,” “The gypsy,” “The pirate/ship captain,” “Cinderella’s fairy godmother,” or even “The Wicked Witch.”
When we touch upon the gold in the shadow, we transcend the hardwiring of our hero or dominant 1st function and tap into our SUPER HERO. The super hero may give us our most creative idea or bring us our greatest joy.
Through exercises and an explanation segment, we can learn how to coax our shadow side out of the darkness and bring it into the light! Dressing up is a good way to embody our shadow and get to the gold.
WHAT IS YOUR SHADOW?
Look on the APT-NC.org website for Beebe’s 8-Function Model. To find the areas of your shadow side to explore for nuggets (4th Function says Naomi Quenk, 5th through 8th Functions, says John Beebe) look at the chart at the bottom of the 8-Function Model screen. There is a table for Introverts and one for Extraverts – read across the top rows to find your type. Whatever pops into your mind may be that gold nugget.
