At the insistence of Isabel Myers, Form G of the MBTI included 31 unscored items. These items were key to hypotheses that Myers was pursuing, but never completed or published. Otto Kroeger, after nearly thirty years in the field, has uncovered the same patterns and substance in the unscored items that Myers was working towards so many years ago.

Through ongoing research and years of client consultation and observation, Otto has discovered that in addition to helping validate type, the unscored 31 items on the indicator CAN yield powerful insights into issues of authority, self-esteem, temper and other factors of tremendous importance to clients. These patterns are not present in the scored items.

These findings led Otto Kroeger to a longitudinal study of the unscored items' predictive value in college retention efforts. Early results indicate that certain key patterns in the unscored items can predict with over 70% accuracy individuals who will encounter issues within themselves or the educational system that will threaten their success in their chosen academic programs.

This session will overview the study, identify critical patterns in the unscored items and begin to explore the uses of these patterns in other fields, including counseling, coaching, Organizational Development, and the medical field, and include compelling data on Type and health issues like heart attacks and some cancers.
